Foundations of Information Engineeing (FoIE) is a new research lab in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Cornell University focusing on modern aspects of information acquisition, processing, dynamics, security, storage, and communication.

Beyond problems arising in traditional wireless and wireline communication systems, we are interested in emerging applications of information engineering such as smart grids, social networks, peer-to-peer systems, searching and classifying large data sets, chip-to-chip and on-chip communications, minimizing the carbon footprint of our information infrastructure, and deciphering the neural code.

We invite you to learn more about our members, our latest research results, and opportunities for graduate and post-graduate study at FoIE. Enjoy your stay!
